Philosophy

1
Measure what matters
Targeted tests that guide decisions, not testing for its own sake.
Your first consult starts with a full history, examination and review of your medications and supplements. Tests are then guided by your symptoms and history. For many of our patients, simple markers such as iron, vitamin D or blood sugar reveal deficiencies or early changes that are common and easy to address. Dr Andrew may also select less common tests specific to your condition.
2
Treat what’s in the way
We start with what’s holding you back most.
For some of our patients that’s chronic pain, chronic stress and poor sleep. For others it’s weight, skin or low energy. Ongoing activation of the stress response can disrupt sleep, digestion and blood-sugar control, so calming it often helps other treatment work. Depending on your needs, that may involve medication, acupuncture or practical tools for home.
3
Build your foundations
Movement and nutrition as medicine, the core of prevention.
Muscle is metabolically active tissue. Resistance training improves insulin sensitivity, slows age-related muscle loss and supports bone density, and enough protein helps you build and keep that muscle. Alongside balanced eating, these are the foundations of preventative health, protecting your metabolism, strength and independence as you age.
4
Small habits, regular reviews
Small daily changes, reviewed and adjusted over time.
Regular movement breaks, short “exercise snacks”, enough water and a consistent sleep routine all add up. Small habits you can keep tend to outlast dramatic, short-lived change. We’ll remind you when your review is due, so we can check your progress, results and medications and adjust your plan as life changes.
